Preparation


Diet:
You should only take a clear liquid diet on the day before the procedure. CLEAR LIQUIDS ONLY. Broths, bouillon, clear fruit juices, jello, popsicles, Etc. NO RED LIQUIDS! DO NOT EAT OR DRINK ANYTHING AFTER MIDNIGHT!!!

Laxative:
At 3:00 pm take 2 Dulcolax tablets. At 5:00 pm mix the 225 gram bottle of Miralax in 64 oz of Gatorade. Shake the solution until the Miralax is dissolved. Drink an 8 oz glass every 10-15 minutes until the solution is gone. At 9:00 pm take 2 more Dulcolax tablets with your last glass of Miralax or water.

NOTE:
If you start feeling nauseous or vomit, hold drinking laxative for ½ to 1 hour until symptoms improve. If symptoms continue please call and inform our office at 912-632-8018 or 912-284-1210.

Medications:
If you are diabetic, please take half of your usual dose of insulin on the day of procedure. If you take oral diabetic medication do not take it on the day of the procedure until after the procedure and when you have eaten. If you take blood pressure or heart medications you may take them the morning of the procedure with a small amount of water.

STOP- STOP THESE MEDICATIONS!!!!!
1. STOP Aspirin and arthritis medications 3 days prior to procedure.
2. STOP Coumadin and other blood thinners 3 days prior to procedure.
3. STOP PLAVIX medications 7 days prior to procedure.


Other Info: Call 912-632-8961 extension 1025 on the day before between 12:00 pm and 3:00 pm to get your time to be at the hospital the next morning. If you are given lab orders please have done 1 week before procedure date. You will need someone to drive you home. If you have any questions please call our office at 912-284-1210.
