X-ray Instructions


Make sure your healthcare provider has obtained a precertification number when required by insurance.


All contrast CT's

Do not eat or drink anything the day prior to your procedure. Make sure you have a recent bun/creatine. If recent labs have not been done, lab work with results will be completed before being scanned. This usually takes an additional 30 minutes.

Abdominal/Pelvic CT's

Patient must come in the day prior to procedure and pick up barium for the study. Drink barium the night before study according to instructions.

Abdominal Sonogram

If you still have your gallbladder, do not eat or drink anything the day prior to your procedure.

Pelvic Sonogram

Patient must have a full bladder.

BE's and IVP's

Do not eat or drink anything the day prior to your procedure. Patient needs to pick up a prep kit two days before the exam.

GI's

Do not eat or drink anything the day prior to your procedure.

Mammograms

Make sure you do not wear deodorant, lotions, or powders.
