ABC Child Development Center
A Community Day Care ResourceThe ABC Child Development Center is licensed to serve 87 children ranging from six weeks to twelve years of age. Built in 1998 with local grant funds, the Center is a licensed and accredited child development program that serves the Alma and Bacon County area. The early childhood program is designated to provide a safe and nurturing environment while promoting the physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development of young children. The curriculum is sensitive to individual learning styles and respects the range of differences within a single child.
Activities for the children include many opportunities for interaction and socialization within the center. Outside community leaders and local law enforcement and fire department are welcomed visitors here at the center. The center encourages all parents to share any ethical and culture activities with the children.
A Before-and-After school program is available during the school year and All-Day Care for school-age children in the summer.
ABC Child Development Center participates in the annual community Christmas parade, raises funds for St. Jude's Hospital's Trike-a-Thon and the "Join Hands for a Cure" Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Annual Fundraiser.
The Twin Oaks Convalescent Center's front door faces the playground of our ABC Child Development Center. Daily, residents can sit on the front porch and watch the children play, or can receive daily visits from children several times per day. In addition, residents are encouraged to visit the center and read to the children, or participate in events such as the yearly Easter Egg Hunt.
FeesFees are very affordable for every parent, and the community is encouraged to use the facility. Approximately 80% of the children we care for have non-employee parents.
